Position Summary:

This individual will be responsible for the maintenance of the landscaping throughout both golf courses, clubhouse, and exterior of the development. Superintendent must have an eye for detail, design experience, and extensive knowledge of plant material.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the development and management of landscaping throughout the golf courses, clubhouse, and common areas.
• Training, motivating, and supervising all employees in a safe and efficient manner.
• Taking care of and maintaining all landscape turf, plants, shrubs and equipment.
• Preparing yearly budgets and reports with the GCMD.
• Preparing an annual Landscape budget and capital budget pertaining to landscaping management and improvements with new designs and plantings.
• Hiring and firing employees.
• Developing and maintaining an Inventory Control System.
• Maintaining appropriate records including Inventory.
• Developing and maintaining a Quality Control Program.
• Maintain proper uniform; shirts must be tucked in and proper shoes must be worn.
• As a “Team Player” of Boca Woods Country Club, the employee must be flexible and is required to perform any job in whatever capacity as requested by the Director of Agronomy that may be necessary for the smooth operation of maintenance of the landscaping throughout the property.

Requirements:

• Landscape Superintendent should have a degree in an accredited learning institute in Agronomy/Horticulture/Plant/Soil Science/Landscaping.
• Must be certified and/or licensed in the category of Ornamental and Turf and Public Health from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
