This 12-month internship, starting in August 2026, offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event management, marketing, and international business. Working closely with our Marketing Department and Event Manager, you will contribute to the planning, promotion, and execution of a diverse portfolio of events, including professional networking programs, business conferences, executive events, and large-scale signature events.

The position is compensated at $15 per hour and follows a hybrid work schedule. The intern is expected to work from our office in Atlanta, at least three days per week, with the option to work remotely for up to two days per week.

Job Description:
As an Events Intern, you will work with the Event Manager and collaborate with team members across different departments and regions to support the planning, organization, promotion, and execution of GACC South events.

This internship is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, international environment and is interested in gaining practical experience in event management, marketing, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, contribute creative ideas, interact with business leaders and member companies, and gain insight into the German American business community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and execution of networking events, conferences, executive programs, and large-scale social events throughout Georgia and occasionally in surrounding states.
  • Assist with all stages of event management, including research, planning, implementation, on-site execution, and post-event follow-up.
  • Research event venues, vendors, speakers, and potential partners, and support the coordination of event logistics.
  • Coordinate marketing and event-related activities internally and with external vendors, partners, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Communications Team to effectively promote events across digital and traditional communication channels.
  • Provide input and creative feedback on event marketing materials, social media content, and promotional graphics. An eye for design is a plus.
  • Create and manage event registration pages and maintain accurate registration and attendee information.
  • Monitor registration activity, prepare attendee lists, and assist with guest communications before and after events.
  • Respond professionally to event-related questions by phone and email.
  • Welcome and engage with guests, members, sponsors, speakers, and business leaders during in-person events.
  • Support event setup, registration, on-site coordination, and event breakdown.
  • Perform administrative and organizational tasks related to project and event management.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations to enhance event programming, marketing, and the overall attendee experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid authorization to work in the United States for the full duration of the internship.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in business administration, marketing, communications, event management, hospitality, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in event management, marketing, international business, or relationship building.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • A creative and proactive mindset with an interest in contributing new ideas and participating in brainstorming processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to use time and resources effectively.
  • Professional and comfortable interacting with business leaders, clients, members, event guests, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, international team.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the Atlanta area and occasionally to surrounding states to support events.
  • Flexibility to support occasional evening and weekend events.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • German language skills are a plus but are not required.
