Definition of Classification:

The Chemistry Department at the University of Redlands is seeking to hire a tenure-track biochemist at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2027. Primary teaching responsibilities will include a biochemistry course and laboratory, general chemistry lectures and laboratories, and the possibility of organic chemistry lectures and laboratories for the equivalent of 24 units. The successful candidate is expected to develop a productive research program involving undergraduate students. The research area is open. Collaborations are possible with our neighboring institutions that include LLUMC, UC-Irvine and the Keck Graduate School. Candidates must demonstrate a strong dedication to teaching and mentoring incoming students with diverse backgrounds, including students that may have little to no background in chemistry.

    Standard office setting. Duties performed are primarily in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer workstation or in meetings.
