Job description

Role: Full Stack .NET Engineer / Software Engineer
Location: Jackson, MI (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months
Rate: Market
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and enhance legacy applications to meet ongoing HVD Engineering requirements. • Collaborate with engineers, program/project managers, and other stakeholders to gather and translate technical and business requirements. • Coordinate with IT to plan and execute the transition from proprietary software to off-the-shelf solutions. • Support existing applications during the transition phase, ensuring minimal disruption to users. • Evaluate current software tools and workflows, and develop a strategic transition plan for approval by leadership. • Lead implementation of the transition plan, including migration to Azure Cloud infrastructure. • Support database administration tasks including security, stored procedures, and performance tuning. • Administer Windows servers and services relevant to hosted applications. • Maintain and develop SSRS reports and manage DevOps repository activities.
 
Required Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in VBA, .NET (VB and C#) • Strong SQL development skills, including advanced queries and stored procedures • Experience with database administration, security controls, and performance optimization • Windows Server administration including user access, services, and application hosting • Familiarity with Azure Cloud environments and DevOps tools • SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) report development
 
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered • Demonstrated experience in software engineering roles supporting both legacy and cloud technologies • Strong understanding of IT-business alignment, with experience delivering software solutions that support operational goals • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
