Job description

JOB SUMMARY

This position acts as a Senior Full-Stack Developer within the Scrum team. The role drives the development of innovative solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and requires a deep understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies with strong leadership and communication abilities. In addition, this role requires active participation in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the IGSS deliverables that support vehicle diagnostics, repair processes, and overall automotive service efficiency. Development includes integrating with various automotive diagnostic tools and ensuring our products meet industry standards and customer expectations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Designs, develops, and maintains scalable web applications using PHP/Laravel and JavaScript/React.
  1. Performs code reviews, writes unit and integration tests, and collaborates on pull request changes and feedback.
  1. Participates in design meetings, discusses tasks with colleagues, reviews, and contributes to company documentation.
  1. Monitors and manages product infrastructure, using tools such as Terraform and Azure DevOps to inform future development and improvements.
  1. Stays current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development processes.
  1. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to: Manager, Web Development
  • Direct reports: None

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in software engineering
  • Minimum three years of experience in automotive diagnostics or related field preferred
  • Previous experience as a Product Owner or in a product management role is highly desirable

KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong technical background in programming languages (such as PHP/Laravel, JavaScript/React, Node.js, MySQL, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and familiarity with software development tools (e.g., Git, JIRA)
  • Experience with Terraform, Azure Cloud, and DevOps pipelines for continuous integration and deployment strongly preferred
  • Ability to architect scalable and maintainable web-based and cloud-based solutions, considering factors such as performance, reliability, and safety
  • Understanding of automotive diagnostic tools and processes is highly desirable

  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience working in a Scrum team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • High ability to work independently, requires little management oversight or supervision

PHYSICAL STANDARDS

The employee must be able to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer. This is primarily a sedentary position in a controlled office environment which requires only occasional reaching, stooping, and lifting of office files, reports, or records, typically weighing 5 lbs. or less.

Pay Scale

The pay scale for this position is between $107,746 and $137,376. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
