About the Role / Position Summary
FEG is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who enjoys building practical, business-facing applications that make work easier, faster, and more reliable. This is a hands-on application engineering role focused on designing, developing, modernizing, and supporting web applications, APIs, integrations, and data-driven tools that support investment research, client service, reporting, and firm operations.
The ideal candidate is strongest on the application side of engineering: someone who can take business needs, translate them into thoughtful technical solutions, and deliver clean, maintainable software using modern Microsoft technologies, including .NET, C#, Angular, SQL Server, Azure, APIs, and CI/CD practices.
Why Work at FEG? / About the Company
FEG is an independently owned advisory firm that provides investment consulting, outsourced chief investment officer (OCIO), and research services to predominantly institutional clients1, such as university endowments, private and public foundations, religious organizations, healthcare institutions, corporate retirement plans, and select family offices.
Founded in 1988, FEG has served communities both directly and by helping our clients fulfill their missions, for over 37 years. FEG employs 140+ professionals across offices in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dallas, Texas, and Indianapolis, Indiana, with approximately $99.4 billion2 in client assets under advisement.
What You'll Do / Position Responsibilities
Application Engineering & Modernization
  • Design, build, test, and enhance business-facing web applications that support research, reporting, client service, and internal operations.
  • Develop intuitive, responsive user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, with attention to usability, accessibility, and performance.
  • Build reliable application services, APIs, and integrations using .NET, C#, secure data access practices, and practical application architecture.
  • Modernize legacy applications and manual workflows by reducing technical debt, improving maintainability, and aligning solutions with approved target architecture and business priorities.
  • Create and maintain SQL Server objects, queries, and data models that support application functionality, integrations, reporting, and data quality.
Application Delivery, Azure & Production Support
  • Deploy and support applications in Microsoft Azure, using cloud services that improve reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, source control practices, automated testing, release management, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Troubleshoot application issues across the user interface, API, database, integration, and deployment layers.
  • Partner with infrastructure and IT teammates to support reliable application delivery.

Quality, Security & Maintainability
  • Build software that is secure, testable, maintainable, and practical for a growing business environment.
  • Apply secure development practices, including input validation, appropriate access controls, secrets management, and secure authentication and authorization.
  • Write automated tests and participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical documentation.
  • Improve performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability through thoughtful architecture, refactoring, and practical documentation.
  • Work directly with business stakeholders, end users, IT teammates, vendors, and engineering partners to understand needs and deliver useful application capabilities.
  • Own assigned features, enhancements, integrations, fixes, and application workstreams from design through production support.
  • Communicate clearly on requirements, options, estimates, risks, blockers, and trade-offs.
  • Document systems, dependencies, support procedures, and technical decisions to reduce key-person risk.
