What is an internship free data entry?

An Internship Free Data Entry position is an opportunity for individuals, often students or recent graduates, to gain work experience in data entry without having to pay any fees. These positions typically involve inputting, updating, and managing information in computer systems or databases. Interns may work with various types of data, such as customer information, sales records, or survey results. This role helps develop skills in accuracy, attention to detail, and familiarity with office software, and is often used as a stepping stone to more advanced administrative or data-focused careers.

What does an internship free data entry do?

As a data entry intern, you will typically be responsible for entering, updating, and maintaining various types of information in digital databases or spreadsheets. Your daily tasks may include transcribing data from paper or electronic documents, verifying the accuracy of information, organizing files, and assisting with basic data cleanup. Interns often collaborate with team members from different departments, helping ensure data consistency and supporting administrative projects. These responsibilities provide valuable exposure to database management and attention to detail, which are useful skills for many entry-level office roles.

Good organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions precisely are standout soft skills for this position. These abilities ensure that data is entered correctly and efficiently, supporting accurate business records and smooth workflow processes.

The Center for Careers and Internships is hiring dynamic students who want to make a difference by supporting CCI programs and helping fellow students connect with valuable career and internship resources. As a CCI Ambassador, you'll be the welcoming face of the Center, working on projects that support student success, and engaging in outreach activities all while gaining hands-on experience with communications, events, and career tools. Motivated and career-curious students with prior engagement with CCI resources are strongly encouraged to apply.

This is a student Level B position paying $14.95 per hour.

Core Responsibilities:

    • Greet and assist students and visitors in person and on the phone. Guide visitors to the right resources with professionalism and kindness.
    • Contribute to meaningful career pathway focused projects involving research, data entry, resource development, blog posts and more.
    • Utilize platforms including Handshake, Midd2Midd, LinkedIn, Canva, and the CCI website.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of CCI resources and services.
    • Promote CCI resources across campus through events, posters, surveys, and tabling.
    • Assist peers with Handshake to sign in, find events , and schedule appointments.
    • Maintain confidentiality and uphold a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all students
    • Keep the lobby inviting and organized per established checklist.

Requirements

    • Friendly, approachable communicator who enjoys talking to students from all backgrounds.

    • Proficiency in MS Office, Canva, Google Suite, and Handshake (we can train you!)
    • Work 6 hours/week for a minimum of two semesters (consecutive semesters preferred)
    • Demonstrated accountability and punctuality.

To apply, submit a resume, cover letter that describes your previous engagement with the CCI and career interests, as well as the names of two professional references. Strong candidates will be contacted for an interview.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

Primarily working in an office environment, seated at reception desk, utilizing phone and computer. Stairs required to access printer on second floor. Occasional standing at off-site events.

Student Employment Eligibility:

Unless restricted by certain visa status, all students with an active status for the semester are eligible for jobs on campus.

Students on leave or withdrawn are not eligible to work in student employment positions until the semester in which they return. If you are currently withdrawn or on leave you are eligible to be employed in staff positions.

Some may be restricted due to financial aid status. International students (non-resident aliens) may not work off campus unless they have applied for and received work authorization from the United States government. (An F-1 visa does not give work authorization.) Off campus work study positions are available only to U.S. citizens on financial aid with a federal work study component.

Students are not eligible to work remotely from International locations.

Hour Limitations:

All student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week in on campus jobs during the academic year (this includes exam periods). The only exception is when there is a full week when school is not in session. Specifically: February recess, Spring recess, and full weeks of December or summer recess. During these time periods only, students can work up to 40 hours per week. International Students: Visa restrictions prohibit international students from exceeding 20 hours of work per academic calendar week.
