An Internship Forensic Engineer is a student or recent graduate who assists professional forensic engineers in investigating and analyzing failures or accidents in structures, materials, or products. The role typically involves gathering data, conducting tests, and helping prepare reports under supervision. Internship Forensic Engineers gain hands-on experience in the field, learn how to use specialized tools and methods, and develop an understanding of legal and technical aspects of forensic investigations.

As a forensic engineering intern, you can expect to assist with investigations into product failures, construction defects, or accident reconstructions under the supervision of experienced engineers. Typical tasks may include collecting and analyzing evidence, documenting findings through photographs and notes, preparing technical reports, and participating in site visits or laboratory testing. You'll often work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including senior engineers, legal professionals, and insurance representatives. This hands-on experience provides insight into real-world problem-solving and can help build a strong foundation for a future career in forensic engineering.
