Internship forensic case managers are students or recent graduates who assist professional case managers in handling cases involving individuals within the criminal justice or mental health systems. They help coordinate services, monitor client progress, and ensure compliance with court orders or treatment plans. Interns gain hands-on experience in case management, documentation, and working with multidisciplinary teams. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an internship forensic case manager?

To thrive as an Internship Forensic Case Manager, you need a foundational understanding of criminal justice, mental health, and case management principles, often supported by coursework or a degree in psychology, social work, or a related field. Familiarity with case management software, legal documentation systems, and basic forensic assessment tools is typically required. Strong organizational skills, empathy, and clear communication are essential soft skills for building rapport with clients and collaborating with legal and mental health professionals.
