Per Diem - Join a mission-driven, multidisciplinary team at MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH) as an Inpatient Psychiatrist in our 40-bed adult psychiatric unit in Sanford, Maine. We are seeking per diem psychiatrists to lead compassionate, team-based care for patients with complex psychiatric and psychosocial presentations. You'll work alongside skilled nurse practitioners, social workers, behavioral health specialists, and supportive programming staff in a collegial environment that values collaboration, innovation, and continuity of care. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape treatment plans, provide direct therapeutic and pharmacologic interventions, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients-while enjoying a strong work-life balance in the heart of beautiful Southern Maine.
Minimum Qualification:
  • Graduate of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School. Completion of internship and psychiatric residency and/or fellowship training.
  • Current or eligible licensure as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine.
  • Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or be eligible for examination by the American Board as documented by written evidence.
  • Board Certified or board eligible in general psychiatry.
  • Current DEA Registration Certificate.
  • 3+ years' experience inclusive residency and/or fellowship training.
  • Meet other credentialing criteria defined in Medical Staff By-laws

The pay rate for this position is $145.00 to $205.00 per hour and may qualify for shift differentials based on eligibility.
