Rothera is building the premier prediction market in partnership with Robinhood and Susquehanna International Group.

By empowering traders to take positions on the events that shape our world Rothera's platform harnesses the scale and power of financial markets to produce timely, unique, and effective information discovery for leaders and decision makers to ask and answer their most important questions.

Rothera operates at the frontier, generating market-driven forecasts that turn intuition into insight.

About the role

The Sr Product Associate - Clearing supports the execution of Rothera's clearinghouse product roadmap, working closely with the Director and Specialists on the team. This role is a hands-on contributor role: you'll take well-defined problems, turn them into clear requirements, and see them through to delivery, while building the domain expertise to take on larger pieces of the clearing product over time.

What you'll do

Working under the guidance of senior Product Managers on the Clearing team, your key responsibilities include gathering requirements, writing specifications, and coordinating delivery for assigned features and functionality across Rothera's clearing platform, in partnership with engineering, operations, risk, and compliance.

Clearinghouse Product Development
  • Support the development and implementation of clearing services, regulatory reporting, and post-trade functionalities by gathering requirements from internal teams, operational departments, and clients.
  • Partner with the Risk department on defined workstreams related to real-time risk management, including margin calculations, collateral valuation, and settlement processes, under the direction of senior team members.
  • Help maintain data models for trade settlement, position management, and transaction reporting, and flag data integrity issues across the clearing lifecycle.
  • Assist with clearing member services and portal functionality, including testing and documenting integrations with third-party platforms and vendors via FIX protocol, proprietary APIs, or enterprise message queues (e.g., Kafka).
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis on request to support roadmap planning.
  • Draft functional specifications, including API service descriptions (REST/Websocket), workflow diagrams, and data schemas, for review and refinement with senior Product Managers before handoff to engineering.
Customer Support
  • Assist with technical and product support to customers, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders.
  • Help ensure timely, high-quality issue resolution, escalating complex cases appropriately.
  • Support the Operations team with customer technical onboarding, API conformance testing, and customer connectivity.
  • Assist with day-to-day coordination with key customers and vendors under the direction of senior team members.
What you'll bring
  • 1-3 years of product management, business analyst, or related experience in capital markets, financial services, or a technology environment; internships or coursework in derivatives, market structure, or fintech are a plus.
  • Foundational understanding of the post-trade lifecycle for listed derivatives or prediction markets (trade ingest, position management, settlement), or strong motivation to build this expertise quickly.
  • Familiarity with, or eagerness to learn about, Futures Commission Merchants, DCMs, and DCOs.
  • Comfort writing clear, detailed requirements and documentation; experience contributing to customer or regulatory reporting workflows is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and a scripting language (e.g., Python), with the ability to pull and interpret data to support investigations and requirements, or strong willingness to develop this skill on the job.
  • Curiosity about modern software architecture patterns (microservices, event-driven architecture, distributed ledgers) and comfort asking questions to understand technical trade-offs alongside engineers.
Benefits & Compensation

This position has a base salary of $120,000-$130,000 USD per year, plus participation in a discretionary annual incentive bonus program.
