Warehouse Material Handler

Looking for a place to showcase your warehouse skills? Join our team as the Warehouse Material Handler! In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse distribution activities, including order picking, loading and unloading shipments, and operating heavy equipment. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth warehouse operations while maintaining safety standards and inventory accuracy.

Your Day To Day

  • Read pick tickets and accurately pull the proper products.
  • Confirm lot numbers on tile are a match to pick tickets.
  • Check for damage on any items being pulled for shipment and report to Warehouse Manager.
  • Transfer tile from manufacturing to inventory and bays and ensure it is transferred in the computer system.
  • Use forklift to load and unload containers and transport pallets to warehouse locations.
  • Ensure there are no discrepancies in inventory.
  • Communicate with manufacturing and shipping to ensure product is pulled and prepared for shipment in a timely manner.
  • Use computer to prepare shipments such as FedEx and UPS.
  • May assist Quality Control Auditor with quality audits on inventory products and incoming products from customer molders and component suppliers.
  • May assist Quality Control Auditor with dock audits on all shipments leaving distribution.
  • May assist with inspections on returned products.
  • May assist with final inspection on products before shipping from the facility.
  • General housekeeping duties including sweeping, etc. to keep all work areas clean.
  • Compliance with ISO 9001 standard
  • Commitment to 5s, including:
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining a clean organized, and efficient workplace by applying the principles of 5S.
  • Actively participate in keeping the work environment orderly.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows.
  • Adhere to established standards to ensure safety, quality, and productivity
  • Support continuous improvement by fostering an atmosphere of respect for materials, equipment, and shared spaces.
  • Encourage team accountability for sustaining a well-organized workplace

What We Would Love About You:

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, or materials handling roles
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations including inventory management systems and material handling equipment operation
  • Ability to operate forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes safely; certification preferred
  • Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy loads regularly
  • Basic math skills for inventory counting and measurements
  • Mechanical knowledge or construction experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety protocols and OSHA certification is preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow safety guidelines diligently
