Job description

Emergency Veterinarian - Ethos ER Immerse Mentorship Program - Clarksville, TN - 2027

Clarksville Veterinary Emergency & Specialty is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our 9-12 month training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us and transition into an ER position at our hospital post-mentorship!

Since our opening in April 2020, we have rapidly grown into a leading hospital respected for delivering cutting-edge Emergency, Internal Medicine, and Surgery services to the pets and families of Clarksville and its neighboring regions. Our ER Immerse Mentees enjoy training both in house and with the multitude of specialists in our sister location in Nashville, Nashville Veterinary Specialists. This collaborative partnership allows for seamless access to specialized services and consultations, enriching our ability to provide a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Our group has growing internship and mentorship programs; many of which transition into emergency doctors, fostering a truly supportive learning environment.

Our 8500 square-foot facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including on-site CT, digital radiography, ultrasound, echocardiography, laparoscopy, endoscopy, cystoscopy, and electrodiagnostics. We are deeply committed to environmental sustainability and actively support our community through volunteer initiatives.

In addition to a competitive salary, CVES provides a comprehensive benefits package and a generous relocation bonus. We are looking for hardworking and compassionate individuals with diverse skills and a strong desire to contribute to our family-oriented team environment. Our focus is on continually enhancing the quality of care we provide, improving the client experience, and ensuring the well-being of our team. We strive to maintain a healthy work-life balance and promote respect and clear communication throughout our organization.

Why Clarksville, TN?
In April 2024, Money Magazine listed Clarksville among the 50 Best Places to Live in the U.S. Known for its vibrant community atmosphere, Clarksville offers a small-town feel with the convenience of being just a short drive from Nashville. Here are just a few reasons that Clarksville could be the hidden gem you're looking for!

The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program

The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration.

The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.

Applications:

Applications are accepted year-round; however, mentorship positions are limited. To maximize your chances of securing a placement, we recommend submitting your application by November 1st. Applications received after this date will be considered as opportunities remain available.

Work authorization in the United States is a requirement for the position. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company, but candidates eligible for TN status may be considered.

Program Duration/Commitment

  • 6 month training program beginning June or July 2027
  • 1 year commitment as an ER clinician at CVES following training

Location

  • Clarksville Veterinary Emergency & Specialty: 685 Kennedy Lane, Clarksville, TN 37040

Program Highlights

  • Rotate with specialty services during the training program, both at home site and NVS
  • Surgical training offered
  • Always work with a dedicated mentor on shifts
  • No on-call
  • Competency-based curriculum that includes asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds
