Internship Factset information

What are FactSet internships?

FactSet internships are structured programs that provide students and recent graduates with hands-on experience in financial data and analytics, technology, consulting, or other business roles within FactSet. Interns work on real projects, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and have opportunities to network with colleagues across the company. These internships are designed to help participants develop practical skills, gain industry knowledge, and explore potential career paths at FactSet or within the broader financial technology sector.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Intern at FactSet, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Intern at FactSet, you need a solid foundation in finance, economics, computer science, or a related field, often demonstrated through relevant coursework or a degree in progress. Familiarity with data analysis tools (such as Excel, SQL, or Python) and an understanding of financial software platforms are highly beneficial. Strong communication, analytical thinking, and a collaborative mindset are standout soft skills in this position. These capabilities enable interns to swiftly learn, contribute effectively to team projects, and adapt to the fast-paced environment of financial technology.

What types of projects can interns at FactSet expect to work on, and how do these projects contribute to their professional development?

Interns at FactSet typically work on real-world projects that align with the company's core business, such as data analysis, software development, or client support, depending on the specific internship track. These projects often involve collaborating with experienced teams, using industry-standard tools, and presenting findings to stakeholders. This hands-on experience not only builds technical and analytical skills but also enhances problem-solving abilities and teamwork. Interns are encouraged to take initiative and contribute ideas, which can lead to networking opportunities and, in some cases, full-time offers after graduation.
