Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital, a Specialty and Emergency Referral Facility with hospitals in Akron, Highland Heights, and Norton, Ohio, is seeking an Avian & Exotic Animal Veterinarian to join our team!
The Metropolitan Veterinary Group has been providing specialty and emergency care for over 50 years, with an established reputation for delivering the "Gold Standard" of veterinary medicine. Our Avian & Exotics service is one of the longest established exotic animal programs in the Midwest, providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and referral care for birds, reptiles, amphibians, rabbits, ferrets, pocket pets, zoological species, aquatic animals, and wildlife. We are excited to continue growing this unique service and are actively looking for an Avian & Exotics DVM who wants to join our team.
Metro Exotics Team
- Work with a team of experienced board-certified specialists, residents, and interns who value and practice high-quality medicine.
- Work side by side with a talented, exotic-trained staff of registered technicians that pride themselves on providing exceptional patient care.
- Opportunity, if desired, to participate in conservation, wildlife rehabilitation, public aquarium medicine, and exotic animal rescues.

- Practice high-quality avian and exotic animal medicine with access to advanced diagnostics, surgery, and extensive support
- Enjoy a diverse and rewarding caseload including birds, reptiles, amphibians, rabbits, ferrets, pocket pets, zoological species, aquatic animals, and wildlife
- Expand your skills utilizing advanced diagnostics, minimally invasive procedures, microsurgery, endoscopy, ultrasound, laser (surgical and therapy), laparoscopy, digital radiology, and CT imaging
- Work within a service that enjoys a large established client base and receives referral cases from throughout Ohio and neighboring states
