This position provides the opportunity to work on complex tax matters, identify planning opportunities, mentor developing professionals, and contribute to the continued growth of EHTC's Private Client Services practice.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare complex tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, S corporations, private foundations, and gift tax engagements.
  • Review individual and trust tax returns, workpapers, and related deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with professional and firm standards.
  • Work directly with clients and their advisors to gather information, identify needs, and support tax compliance, planning, and consulting engagements.
  • Research technical tax issues, analyze relevant facts and circumstances, and develop recommendations for engagement leaders.
  • Analyze tax notices received from government agencies and prepare draft responses for review.

  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Communicate proactively with clients and engagement teams regarding project status, open items, client needs, and deadlines.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, advisors, and internal team members.
  • Support the development of associates and interns through mentoring, coaching, training, and day-to-day guidance.
  • Stay informed on tax law changes and industry developments and assist in evaluating their impact on clients and engagements.
  • Collaborate with professionals across service lines to address client needs and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance client service, engagement efficiency, and team effectiveness.
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, training, and firm development initiatives as opportunities arise.

What Success Looks Like
The ideal candidate is a proactive tax professional who enjoys tackling complex tax matters, building meaningful client relationships, and continuously developing their technical expertise. You take pride in delivering high-quality work, managing multiple priorities with confidence, and supporting clients and team members with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset. You'll thrive in an environment that values professional growth, exceptional client service, and a commitment to going above and beyond.
Requirements

  • Strong technical tax knowledge related to individual, trust, estate, partnership, and S corporation taxation, as well as tax compliance and research.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience serving high-net-worth individuals, families, private foundations, and closely held businesses.
  • Experience with gift tax, fiduciary, and private foundation engagements.
  • Experience with tax research databases, tax compliance software, AI tools, and document management systems.
  • Familiarity with UltraTax, GoRS, CoCounsel, and other Thomson Reuters products.
