About the Role

We are seeking talented software engineers to work closely with the broader engineering team for an exciting internship opportunity at Apex. This person is passionate about engineering, ready to take ownership over complex challenges, and has a strong desire to learn about all things satellites. You will have an opportunity to approach this from a fresh perspective targeting an end result focused on reliability and efficiency. This will require innovation and creativity to ultimately disrupt and make an impact on the industry.

During the internship program at Apex, youโ€™ll gain handsโ€‘on experience and professional growth opportunities. Youโ€™ll be assigned a summer project to give you the opportunity to have real impact. Throughout the project youโ€™ll have a dedicated mentor to guide you, while participating in learning sessions to elevate your knowledge of aerospace. Plus, youโ€™ll connect with peers and industry professionals during our community events, making this a wellโ€‘rounded experience to launch your career.

Software Engineering (Embedded Systems): Interns will contribute to developing and improving the software that controls our satellites, including embedded systems, simulations, and user interfaces. Youโ€™ll be working on improvements to our microcontroller devices being utilized in space and writing embedded software for new hardware components that will be the building blocks of our future spacecraft.

Proficiency in programming languages C++/C is required.

Requirements:

  • Graduating in the Fall of 2026 or in the Spring of 2027
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

Compensation: $45/hr
