TRUMPF is seeking candidates for an internship in the Assembly Department at our Farmington, CT location. This internship will provide a college-level student with practical and professional experience that will enhance and compliment their classroom learning.

Internship Duatlon: Onsite in Farmington, CT from January 2027 to August 2027 for at least 32 hours a week.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform process analysis. Derive and implement process improvements.
  • Support description of standards in Machine assembly (e.g. create work instructions, do time studies)
  • Upkeep and improvement of 5S process in the department.
  • Review and implement new layout plans in the department with the goal to streamline processes and supply chains
  • Work within the SAP system to link work instructions to the appropriate production steps
  • Support the supervisory team to meet productivity and quality goals.

Experience

The ideal applicant would have a strong operations or experimental background in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Experience with software packages like MS Word, MS Access, MS Power Point, Visio, SolidWorks and SAP is helpful.  Experimental or theoretical knowledge in Toyota Production System and Six Sigma methods is helpful but not required.
