JOB SUMMARY:
The '2026-27 Seasonal Assistant, Retail Marketing' supports Cavs, Monsters, Charge, and WNBA CLE by assisting with marketing, retail promotions, content creation, and day-to-day marketing operations. This role is ideal for an aspiring marketing professional who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and excited to contribute to fan-focused retail initiatives across multiple brands and locations.
*** This is a temporary position from September 2026 - June 2027, that will work onsite approx. 40 hours per week.
*** Local candidates strongly preferred. There is not relocation assistance or temporary housing provided for non-local candidates.
PAY RATE: $15.00/HR START DATE: Sept. 21st
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Retail Promotions & Offsite Activations:
  • Assist the Retail Marketing Director in ideating and coordinating retail promotions and activations for Center Court at Rocket Arena and Pinecrest
  • Support execution of in-store promotional initiatives, including Item of the Game, price point features, and theme-driven displays
  • Distribute finished signage to appropriate internal teams and Team Shop Locations

Content Generation & Influencer Support:
  • Assist with retail photo and video shoots, including merchandise organization, onsite setup, and breakdown of sets
  • Capture evergreen and event-based content at Center Court at Pinecrest, Center Court at Rocket Arena, and retail/photo shoots for use across marketing channels
  • Support influencer marketing by assisting with boxing, seeding, and shipping product to influencers in coordination with the Senior Coordinator of Marketing Operations

Email and Social Media Support:
  • Build Cavs, Monsters, Charge, and WNBA Team Shop newsletters within Stensul based on content provided by Retail Marketing Director
  • Write creative, eye-catching subject lines, preheaders, and short-form newsletter copy that support key retail stories and promotions
  • Request UTM links from Ecommerce team and help track newsletter performance as needed
  • Ideate ways to grow and segment Team Shop email audiences in partnership with Retail Marketing Director
  • Support Team Shop social media channels by managing and monitoring Monsters Team Shop handles, and coordinating content for retail focused social posts and sweepstakes
  • Request social sweepstakes rules, coordinate prize fulfillment, and ship prizes as needed
  • Reliable transportation to Downtown Cleveland, Off-site Warehouse and Pinecrest locations.

Retail Data & Ecommerce Support:
  • Partner with the Manager of Business Intelligence to support retail promotions calendar evaluation, maintenance, and migration
  • Compile data and distribute monthly retail marketing reports that recap key promotions, performance, and fan behavior insights in collaboration with Senior Coordinator of Marketing Operations and Manager of Business Intelligence
  • Work with the Ecommerce Coordinator to identify ecommerce swag thresholds, gifting needs, and product mix to enhance fan experience
  • Recommend innovative swag and gifting items and capture content that supports ecommerce marketing of those efforts

Authentication & General Operations:
  • Shadow the Coordinator of Retail Marketing and Manager of Business Intelligence for any summer events or inventory building for upcoming regular season
  • Support administrative requests (Sourcing requests, basic documentation prep, meeting recaps, PO submissions, etc.) for retail marketing team

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in retail marketing, content creation, and fan engagement across multiple brands and channels
  • Strong written communication skills, especially for short-form copy (email, subject lines, social captions)
  • Comfort collaborating with cross-functional teammates
  • Some working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or similar tools, with ability to edit and export PSD templates preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively solve problems during activations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year College or University (or currently pursuing a BS Degree) in Marketing, Communications, Business, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
  • Prior internship, campus involvement, or work experience in Marketing, Retail, Events, or Content Creation.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation to Rocket Arena, off-site warehouse, and Pinecrest locations.
  • Role requires frequent onsite presence at Rocket Arena, Center Court Pinecrest, and other team retail locations and events.
  • Must be able to lift and move boxes (up to 50lbs) of merchandise and signage as part of the event setup and breakdown.
