Job description

Sr Radio DAS Technician with Day Wireless Systems (Sacramento, CA)

Conduct comprehensive RF site surveys to evaluate signal propagation, identify interference issues, and determine optimal antenna placements for Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and Emergency Responder Radio Communication Systems (ERRCS). Design, configure, and commission DAS and Public Safety BDA systems compliant with NFPA 1221/1225, FCC Part 90 regulations, and local building codes to ensure reliable emergency communication coverage. Perform RF signal strength measurements, system gain adjustments, and interference mitigation using advanced RF testing equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and RF power meters. Develop detailed technical documentation, including system diagrams, test reports, and compliance certifications required by regulatory and inspection authorities. Coordinate closely with local Fire Marshals, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction), and building inspectors to ensure that installations meet or exceeded regulatory compliance standards. Position is fully remote; reports to company's headquarters at Sacramento, California. Travel required throughout the western U.S. 75% of the time.


Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering or a related field. Position requires (5 years with a bachelor's or 3 years with a master's) related experience. Must have some experience in each of the following skills: RF engineering and propagation modeling; DAS and ERRCS design and implementation; NFPA, FCC, and UL compliance; Spectrum analyzer and RF test equipment; Structured cabling installation (CAT6, CAT6A, fiber optics); Network hardware configuration and troubleshooting; Technical documentation and reporting; and Project coordination and regulatory compliance.
