The Area Mech Mechanical is responsible for routine and corrective maintenance in a variety of aspects within the mechanical trade at Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts. The Area Mech Mechanical is well versed with tools of the trade and equipment. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.
Responsibilities :
  • Troubleshoot, repair and replace batteries, bearings, wheels and tires, chains, gearboxes, engines, hydraulic pumps, and seat or seat cushions
  • Troubleshoot, maintain or repair speed-ramps and conveyors
  • Track repairs or work using company database
  • Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required

Basic Qualifications :
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid Florida drivers license
  • Three years minimum experience working on small engines and automotive electronics
  • Experience performing regularly scheduled maintenance on various tractors, backhoes, loaders and golf carts or lawn equipment; Club Car, Cushman, Yamaha, Noland, Mitsubishi, Daihatsu, Gem Car and Taylor Dunn
  • Knowledge of light metal fabrication, hydraulic and pneumatic controls
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Four years or more experience in a commercial setting or industry where mechanical or millwright work was performed
