Position Summary:
Discovery is seeking a motivated intern to join our Quality Assurance team for the upcoming summer semester. This role will provide hands-on experience by assisting in the development and maintenance of the company's Quality Management System supporting advanced analytical technology areas (e.g. biospecimens, cell services, histology, etc.).
Must-Have Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in life sciences preferred or other related fields such as legal may be considered
- Interest in quality assurance in the biotechnology industry
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to conduct research and interpret complex concepts
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a variety of Quality Assurance (QA) activities, projects, and initiatives, including process improvement and harmonization, and audit prep
- Participates in supplier qualification activities, including follow-ups, downloading certificates, etc.
- General administrative activities such as scanning and filing of relevant QA documents
- Maintain databases for supplier data
- Compile periodic quality metrics
- Provides support for members of the QA team at various sites
