Job description

Position Summary
The Operations Manager is the senior site leader responsible for the overall performance of the Clearfield manufacturing operation. The role is accountable for building and leading a safe, productive, disciplined, and performance-driven operation while ensuring customer commitments, business objectives, and operational performance goals are achieved.
The Operations Manager will provide strategic and hands-on leadership to establish operational priorities, manage resources, drive production output, improve quality and delivery performance, control costs, support revenue and business planning, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the site. The role partners closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, finance, and commercial stakeholders to align product execution with customer and market requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead all aspects of the Clearfield manufacturing operation, including production, fabrication, assembly, warehousing, shipping, maintenance, and facility performance.
• Establish operational priorities, production schedules, resource allocation, staffing plans, and capacity requirements to meet business objectives.
• Drive performance across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and customer satisfaction metrics.
• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Lead plant financial performance through effective management of budgets, forecasts, KPIs, productivity initiatives, and cost improvement efforts.
• Partner with engineering, quality, supply chain, finance, and commercial teams to ensure efficient execution from product design through customer delivery.
• Oversee inventory, material availability, supplier performance, logistics, and on-time delivery performance.
• Ensure the reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of plant equipment, facilities, and manufacturing processes.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, throughput, delivery, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and lead a high-performing leadership team while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Required Skills and Knowledge
• Strong manufacturing leadership experience with broad responsibility for plant operations, production, maintenance, quality, safety, delivery, and cost.
• Strong financial management experience, business acumen, and ability to manage budgets, forecasts, cost rolls, operational KPIs, margin performance, and operating results.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, plant operations, production scheduling, MRP, inventory management, lean manufacturing, and operational excellence.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams across operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, maintenance, and finance.
• Strong knowledge of safety, quality, regulatory, industry, and customer requirements in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage employees, leaders, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong decision-making, execution, change leadership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement capabilities.
• Knowledge of product lines, manufacturing processes, customer requirements, and operational priorities within the production facility.
Required Experience and Education
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, fabrication, engineered equipment, or heavy industrial operations.
• Proven success leading a manufacturing facility or major plant operation with accountability for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and financial performance.
• Demonstrated experience managing budgets, forecasts, cost performance, cost rolls, operational KPIs, and margin improvement.
• Experience working with fabricated, packaged, engineered-to-order, or configure-to-order equipment is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, or equivalent operational excellence training.
• Experience in oil and gas production, midstream, downstream equipment, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Strong cost accounting knowledge, including labor standards, material costing, overhead allocation, cost rolls, and manufacturing financials.
• Experience leading supplier performance, procurement coordination, inventory management, logistics, and customer delivery improvement initiatives.
