Job Description

The Director of Career Development Center, under general direction, oversees the administration and organization of the Career Development Center including career operations, all aspects of student employment, career counseling, career assessment, student development workshops, employer outreach, and job development. Manages multiple budgets, including grant resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a member of the division management team by serving on or creating campus-wide committees; preparing staff evaluations, institutional effectiveness reports, department planning and assessments, and campus-wide correspondence and reporting.
  • Conducts annual assessment of effectiveness of programs and implements program improvements based on assessment data.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with employers. Establishes connections with a broad base of employers, government agencies, private industries, nonprofit agencies, and school districts.
  • Works directly with academic deans, chairs, and faculty in creating and establishing broad-based and experiential internships for students.
  • Works directly with academic deans in creating internship policies, programs, courses, and learning objectives for students.
  • Coordinates directly with academic Colleges, employers, alumni, and students regarding the objectives of the internship program.
  • Coordinates and oversees processes associated with on-campus interviewing.
  • Plans, coordinates, and hosts annual events, including career fairs, graduate fairs, and other professional development activities.
  • Develops, organizes, and presents workshops, classes, and professional development seminars on job-seeking skills.
  • Meets one-on-one with students to provide individualized coaching on interview skills, resume writing, and related skills.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive programs to prepare students for job interviews and resume development, ensuring students are equipped with the necessary tools for career success.
  • Supervises assigned staff.

Education and Experience:- Bachelors required Master's Preferred in in Counseling, Business, Higher Education, or related area and 6 years of related experience.

Starting salary for this position is $5,000.00 monthly and is negotiable depending on education and experience.
