From pedestrian safety improvements to bike facilities to high-profile roadway reconstructions, we’re helping our clients build a safer, more sustainable future.

The Position

We are seeking qualified candidates to join our large team of engineers designing multimodal roadway improvements throughout the City of Chicago. This role combines hands‑on design leadership with project and team management. Day‑to‑day responsibilities for transportation improvements located at various project sites include:

  • Roadway Design
  • Pedestrian Safety Design
  • Bike Facility Design
  • Grading and Drainage Design
  • Sidewalk and ADA Design
  • Traffic Signal Design
  • Preparation of plans, exhibits, and reports

Fast‑paced engineering environment; working under occasional stress and tight deadlines; repetitive tasks; combination of sitting, standing, walking; working with others; critical thinking; problem solving; job task planning and organizing; computer use.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 6–10 years of experience in roadway design or construction
  • P.E. license in Illinois preferred; EIT with PE exam in progress also encouraged to apply
  • Skilled in Bentley OpenRoads Designer; MicroStation a plus
  • Knowledge of CDOT and IDOT design criteria, policies, and procedures
  • Experience developing and interpreting construction documents and site plans
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently, managing time and project workload effectively
