Required Qualifications:
  • Associates degree.
  • Bachelor's degree in Math or Education is preferred.
  • This position requires one year teaching, graduate internship or relevant experience in math support center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic assistance and personalized support in a learning-centered environment including mentoring and assisting peer/professional tutors and faculty volunteers.
  • Gathers, verifies, and maintains information to support periodic and special reports documenting activities and events for assigned area. Maintains record system for area of responsibility. Reviews and processes daily paperwork.
  • Creates and updates supplemental resources to assure programs and services conform to best practices and services.
  • Assist students with using computerized or other multimedia equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned, such as follow-up phone calls or emails, and light office work. Maintain security of equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Must be able to relate to and work with students individually and/or in small groups.
  • Must exercise good judgment.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and can work in a multiple-task environment.
  • Promote positive student, faculty and staff relations as well as relate to the adult student population.
  • use computer software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and assist students with conducting Internet research.
  • Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills are required.
