Ideal for students who have begun gaining relevant experience and are building their skills through internships, part-time jobs, or significant projects. Typically aimed at sophomores or juniors who have completed a combination of introductory and advanced coursework.

Job Summary

The Data Visualization Developer supports Institutional Research by managing and analyzing data, creating and updating dashboards, and collaborating with other departments on data issues. Utilizes basic IT knowledge to analyze, design, program, debug, test, modify, and write documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance of PowerBI dashboards and related technologies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops, modifies, and maintains data visualizations and dashboards for university priorities.

  • Provides support, technical assistance, and/or training to end-users on dashboards and datasets.

  • Work with customers to ensure data specifications address the customer's business requirements.

  • Use SQL, R, and other technologies for building statistical analysis and extracting data.

  • Assist in cleaning datasets, maintaining databases (including understanding database structure), ensuring data accuracy, and proposing solutions for data integrity issues.

  • Contributes to the Data Visualization (PowerBI) group on campus.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • An understanding of database structure and data integrity, including an ability to clean and manage datasets.

  • Connecting data sources via various methods.
