Principal-Level Health Scientist Position with Benchmark Risk Group

Job Description:

Benchmark Risk Group is seeking highly motivated and experienced candidates for full-time positions in the Principal-level career track.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Procure client projects involving scientific areas of expertise

Maintain visibility as an expert in scientific areas of expertise

Manage and execute projects, including scope of work, budgets, deadlines, team staffing, and quality control of deliverables

Critically evaluate published scientific papers and study reports in the environmental sciences, industrial hygiene, toxicology, epidemiology, and occupational medicine

Perform quantitative exposure and risk assessments for clients for a variety of chemicals and exposure scenarios

Responsible for technical work products, presentations, and proposals

Interact with clients on projects, both in-person and electronically

Conduct research that may be presented at scientific conferences or submitted to scientific journals

Supervise and/or mentor other staff

Qualified candidates should have the following skills and qualifications:

A minimum of 10 years of post-university experience is required, either from professional research or consulting practice

Doctoral or Masters’ degree, with a focus in one or more of the following disciplines:

Exposure Assessment

Occupational Health

Extensive practical experience in the application of risk assessment or exposure assessment

Extensive record of publishing scientific articles in peer‑reviewed journals or other applicable technical publications

Proven record of generating new and recurring client work

Outstanding reputation among clients for scientific and professional integrity, communications, and technical expertise

Exceptional leadership and staff mentorship skills and aspirations

Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Exceptional analytical, quantitative, research, and technical skills

Current and future U.S. work authorization is required
