The Compensation & Recognition (C&R) team under the Human Resources department, designs and supports the delivery of firm-wide compensation and recognition programs that are continuously evolving to keep KPMG as a firm of choice and to support a workforce of the future. C&R supports, monitors and analyzes total cash market competitiveness including both base and variable pay, as well as key recognition programs through the Achievers platform.


What you will do

The Manager role oversees the work of the non-management employees within the Compensation & Recognition team, working with the leadership team to prioritize activities. This role is accountable for providing on-the-job coaching, and developing the processes, models and templates to be followed by the C&R Specialists in execution of their activities. ย This role executes on the most complex activities, and has operational ownership of two or more large, function-wide or firm-wide programs. It works directly with vendors and internal stakeholders, and supports the C&R and HR leadership team in executing on strategic, compensation and recognition-related objectives.


This role requires a data-oriented mindset and attention to detail in addition to strong written and verbal communication skills.ย 

This role may have people management responsibilities of one or two specialists or senior specialists.
Specifically, this role:

  • Develops models and templates to enhance the understanding of program trends (ex. costs, utilization, ROI, etc.) and to execute on the annual pay planning and approval processes in the summer and fall. ย  ย 
  • Identifies and resolves program issues or opportunities for improvement, escalating areas of concern and/or insights to the program owner.
  • Supports the C&R senior management team in the analysis and preparation of information to present to clients (Audit, Tax, Advisory or Business Enablement Services, and in the development of new or revised programs.
  • Oversees program escalations through Service Now and the Total Rewards Functional Mailbox. ย Makes recommendations to Program Owners to minimize queries / improve employee experience.

What you bring to the role

โ€ข ย  ย College or University Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related degree in Arts or Science
โ€ข ย  ย 5-7 years of progressive and related experience in Total Rewards (compensation and/or benefits), or HR Information Systems, or Finance, or HR Generalist)
โ€ข ย  ย Proven critical thinking and problem solving skills. Statistically oriented, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
โ€ข ย  ย Completion of a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation from World@Work, or an equivalent, would be an asset

The successful candidate will require fluent written and verbal English as this individual will support a national team and stakeholders across Canada.

The expected base salary range for this position is $74,000 to $111,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicantโ€™s base salary within this range is based on the individualโ€™s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.

KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information

The expected base salary range for this position is $74,000 to $111,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards.
