Work Schedule Summary
This role requires a commitment of two academic semesters, preferably a full calendar year. Sustainability Ambassadors perform office work for 8 to 10hours weekly. Work is performed on campus in BUC50 between 7 am and 5 pm weekdays, with some outdoor shifts. Occasional requirements for events held outside of weekday hours and on weekends. Job Summary
The Office for Sustainability Education seeks a Applied Learning Sustainability Ambassador to help promote sustainability education at the University of Utah. The office mission is to empower students, employees, and the broader community through education, engagement, and collaborative action to build a sustainable future. Sustainability Ambassadors are critical to the advancement of the office mission and achieving University targets for climate action. The Applied Learning Sustainability Ambassador will work independently and collaboratively with our team of faculty, staff, and student employees. Ambassadors are integral to the success of our office and programs like curricular course funding, the sustainability learning assessment, and SCIF. Sustainability Ambassadors learn professional skills and grow their understanding of sustainability at the University of Utah. Funding is available to pursue professional development. This position is open to all majors. This position is work-study eligible but work-study participation is not required.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
  1. Assist in program development, execution and evaluation.
  2. Represent the office at public events and support engagement efforts including logistics, tabling and other outreach.
  3. Develop written and digital marketing content for program events and initiatives.
  4. Perform administrative duties including greeting visitors, answering phone and email inquiries, scheduling appointments, data entry, project research, errands, and processing mail.
  5. Maintain office areas and storage; maintain service and supplies of office equipment and general office operations.
  6. Participating in meetings and professional development opportunities.
  7. Other tasks as assigned.
