Non-Invasive Cardiology Technologist

Schedule Details:

  • Full-Time, 36 hr/wk (Three 12-hr shifts)

  • Third Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM

  • Variable Days

  • Weekly On-Call

  • Holiday Rotation

Duties: Non-Invasive Cardiology Technologist

Utilize advanced arrhythmia recognition skills, holter scanning, perform adult and pediatric EKGs, specialty EKG, apply holter monitors and cardiac event recorders. Directly interact with patients, nurses, staff, and physicians. Transcribe test results into hospitals Electronic Health Record (HER).
Required Qualifications: Non-Invasive Cardiology Technologist
High school education or equivalent required.

The following combination of experience will be considered for this position:

Completion of an approved Nebraska Medicine Internship:
Successful completion of the Non-Invasive Cardiology department's pre-hire examination assessing cardiac arrhythmia recognition required.
Completion of the Nebraska Medicine EKG internship position required.
OR
Completion of relevant experience:
Successful completion of the Non-Invasive Cardiology department's pre-hire examination assessing cardiac arrhythmia recognition required.
Minimum of six (6) months of directly related telemetry or cardiac monitoring experience required.
Ability to work on call required.

Ability to work holidays is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
Certification in either Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) or Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 24 months of hire or transfer date required.

Preferred Qualifications: Non-Invasive Cardiology Technologist
Associate's degree with emphasis in cardiac anatomy and physiology or equivalent combination of education and/or experience working in non-invasive cardiology in an acute care setting preferred.
College courses in physiology, anatomy, and/or related subjects preferred.
Associate of Science degree preferred.
Graduate of an accredited school of allied health/technology preferred.
Knowledge of GE Phillips telemetry, GE MUSE systems, EKG system and cart, Mobile cardiac telemetry, cardiac event recorders, and holter monitors preferred.
