Job description

SUMMARY

Responsible for providing engineering and technical support for production operations, interacting with all levels of the organization. Works closely with operators, supervisors and maintenance personnel to monitor and make improvements to plant equipment, processes and practices. Identifies and implements continuous improvements and leads operations improvement and engineering project teams from inception to completion to obtain the desired outcome. Shares knowledge and conducts training to operations and maintenance personnel on new projects, improvements and technology. Interfaces with Maintenance Manager, Contractors, Planning & Controls, Corporate Engineering and Logistical personnel.


Pay Rate: $24/hr-$33/hr, based on experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING.

  • Provides troubleshooting of the facility infrastructure and production equipment to support production, manufacturing and maintenance operations.
  • Responds to critical production down situations affecting manufacturing operations.
  • Provides engineering design for the infrastructure for the facility and production equipment and processes through both internal and external resources.
  • Provides life, safety and building code analysis and supports and implements programs within the organization to prevent accidents and injuries. Assists in the identification and resolution of potential environmental, safety, and health hazards.
  • Provides routine status and project reports to management and co-workers as required.
  • Researches market for qualified suppliers of materials and services. Seeks competitive and negotiated sources for materials, equipment and services for maintenance and new construction / installation projects as assigned. Prepares purchase orders for management approval.
  • Provides management of projects related to the facility infrastructure, production machines, equipment and processes that support the manufacturing operation.
  • Maintains budget cost control on projects where assigned, through cost control systems.
  • Coordinates tracking and control of project related materials utilizing accurate reporting systems.
  • Coordinates improvement and engineering related document control processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MANUFACTURING RESPONSIBILTIES: Works with Maintenance and Production to provide solutions to facility issues.

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads in the development of Operations & Technical manuals and other literature. This may include; creating task-based equipment operation instructions, technical procedures and instructional, spares inventories, etc.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the management of facility employees and supervisors as assigned.
