Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Control Room Supervisor is responsible for directing and supervising processing activities to ensure HSEC, production, concentrate grade, quality, and cost objectives are achieved for the Processing area. This role oversees daily operational execution, resource allocation, staffing, production performance, and coordination with maintenance and other departments.
The position provides leadership, coaching, and development to Processing team members while ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures, MSHA requirements, applicable regulations, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Control Room Supervisor also supports short- and long-term planning and provides accurate operational reporting.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure employees and contractors work in compliance with Pinto Valley Mine, MSHA, company safety guidelines, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Operating Procedures: Ensure employees and contractors follow approved standard operating procedures and are trained and certified for assigned tasks.
• Workforce Management: Ensure appropriate staffing and equipment are available to execute planned activities while meeting budget and production requirements.
• Team Leadership: Set clear expectations and work objectives, provide coaching and feedback, conduct performance reviews, and support employee development.
• Training & Development: Coordinate with the Processing Training Coordinator to ensure training programs address current and future department requirements.
• Production Management: Direct processing activities to achieve production targets and address operational issues as they arise.
• Resource Planning: Allocate manpower, equipment, and other resources to meet operational requirements and planned activities.
• Operational Reporting: Ensure accurate operational data is captured and used to prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
• Problem Solving: Identify operational issues and work with Mine and Processing management to prevent, mitigate, and resolve issues in real time.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to improve production practices, business systems, processes, and equipment performance.
• Maintenance Coordination: Ensure equipment is operated properly and maintained in good working order by coordinating maintenance activities with production requirements.
• Maintenance Planning: Review and coordinate short- and long-term maintenance plans and schedules with production demands, including Down Day planning and scheduling.
• Budget Support: Provide input to the Superintendent, Processing Mill Operations, regarding department budget development and cost control.
• Governance & Standards: Implement operational programs, processes, and policies consistent with organizational governance requirements and company standards.
• Cross-Functional Support: Provide operational expertise, leadership, and guidance to internal and external departments as required.
• Values & Accountability: Demonstrate and reinforce company values through accountable leadership, operational excellence, results-oriented execution, and responsible work practices.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required
• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three years of concentrator or mill experience in production execution areas.
• Strong working knowledge of processing operations, including applicable theories, practices, methods, and procedures.
• Ability to speak, comprehend, read, and write English.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Preferred
• SAP experience.
• Additional supervisory or leadership experience in mining or mineral processing operations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to stand and walk for short durations, including walking up and down stairs and across uneven surfaces.
• Approximately 25% office-based and 75% field-based work.
• Regular exposure to an active mineral processing and mining environment.
• Ability to work in varying field conditions and around operating processing equipment.

All candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug and alcohol test, and background check. All positions require a pre-placement physical examination to ensure candidates are 'fit for duty’. Additional training and/or testing may be required.
