Job description

Position Summary

GDM-AE, Inc. is staffing for federal healthcare construction and design support work at active healthcare facilities in Palo Alto, CA.


The Construction/Project Manager provides project and construction management consultation services for a single major program or multiple concurrent projects, working alongside Senior PMs to deliver design, procurement, and construction phase support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide construction management consultation across multi-disciplinary, multi-phase facility projects including pre-design, design review, procurement, construction phase, and post-construction services.
  • Manage technical quality, cost, and schedule across assigned projects; maintain daily progress reports and inspection reports.
  • Support inspection and quality assurance team activities to ensure timely and effective project oversight.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and federal client stakeholders on RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field issues.
  • Read and interpret construction documents; communicate effectively with project construction team members and federal client stakeholders.
  • Support healthcare-specific project requirements including patient safety, operational continuity, and renovation work in active occupied facilities.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture from an accredited University. Educational requirements may be substituted by 10 years of directly related experience.
  • 7 years of experience in management of facility construction projects including supervision of engineering, design and construction, schedule control, cost management, program budgeting, and overall project management activities.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documents and ability to communicate effectively with multi-discipline project teams.
  • Healthcare, federal, hospital, laboratory, or occupied institutional project experience preferred.
  • PMP, CCM, PE, RA, DBIA, or similar professional credential preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management/scheduling tools.


Federal Contract Requirements

  • Some local travel within the Palo Alto service area is part of normal duties.
  • Tier 1 Low Risk / Non-Sensitive background investigation (NACI / SF-85) required prior to assignment.
  • Must abide by all client facility rules, security procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Employees represent themselves as contracted personnel, not federal employees, and do not perform inherently governmental functions.
