Job Description:

The Department of Computer Science in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow. The appointment is a 12-month term position, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability, and will commence on October 15, 2024.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field on or before October 1, 2024. The project focuses on conducting cutting-edge research in spatial and temporal data analysis using advanced machine learning technologies. The successful candidate will become a part of an interdisciplinary team working to develop machine learning techniques for remote sensing and uncertainty estimation. Candidates must have a strong programming background.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Computer Science or a related field with a strong emphasis on machine learning.
  • Proficiency in using PyTorch and other machine learning libraries for developing and implementing machine learning models is essential.
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive written reports, including the use of text and graphics to convey information clearly.
  • Publication record in relevant scientific journals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
