San Diego, CA-92120 (5 Days onsite/week)

Job type: Contract

Must Have Skills:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required. 

Entry-Level Network Engineer specializing in Cisco routing, switching, and core networking. You'll assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining routers, switches, and wireless access points; monitor network performance; troubleshoot issues; implement security measures; document configurations; and provide end-user support. Stay ahead with emerging technologies in a collaborative environment. Requirements: Associate’s degree in Computer Science or IT (Bachelor’s preferred), CCNA certification, basic knowledge of TCP/IP, routing/switching, and network security. X-X years of experience; strong problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred: Additional certs like CompTIA Network+ or Security+, and Cisco equipment experience. Flexible hours and occasional lifting required. This position requires on-site work in San Diego, CA.

CORE NETWORKING-ROUTING & SWITCHING - CISCO - Entry-Level Network Engineer 

Key Responsibilities: 

Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, and wireless access points. 

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure efficient and reliable network operations. 

Collaborate with senior network engineers to implement network security measures and maintain network integrity. 

Participate in the documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures. 

Support end-users by providing technical assistance and resolving connectivity issues. 

Stay up-to-date with emerging networking technologies and industry trends. 

Minimum Job Requirements: 

Education: Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required. 

Technical Skills

Basic understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and wireless technologies. 

Familiarity with network hardware such as routers, switches, and wireless access points.
