COMPUTER SCIENCE/STEAM TEACHER
GRADES 5 - 8


Ephrata Area School District, 803 Oak Boulevard, Ephrata, PA, is recruiting for the position of Computer Science Teacher for the Ephrata Area School District effective the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
The Teacher promotes and develops successful learning for students, performs instructional and related duties in accordance with District Policies and terms of the teacher contract. The Teacher also maintains a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and students.ย ย  The Computer Science/STEAM teacher will support instruction on a wide range of computing, coding, technology, science, and math topics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:






  • Develop and implement a rigorous curriculum and learning enviroment for all students.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to use research based principles of effective instruction.
  • Develope and maintain an instructional environment conducive to effective student learning.
  • Prepare effectively for class instruction.
  • Develop and communicate appropriate grading standards and expectations, and academic progress, to students and parents.
  • Develop and maintain positive interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships.
  • Build motivation and interest in learning.
  • Maintain an ongoing personal program of personal growth and development.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTย 
Education:ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institutionย ย ย ย ย 
Certification:ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Holds an activeย certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in any of the following: Preferably in Computer Science 7 - 12; Will accept any of the following Mathematics,ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Business Computer and Info Tech K-12;ย or Technology Education Kย - 12
Experience:ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Any work experience in certification area(s).ย  ย Student teaching experience in a supervised education program at an accredited institution.ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย 
WORK PLACE EXPECTATIONS:
ย Must demonstrate regular and punctual attendance.
Must interact positively with administration, students, staff, parents and community members.
Must demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior & speech and dress in a neat, clean and professional manner.
Must follow all District policies, work procedures and reasonable requests by proper authority.

Follow established protocols as outlined in Student/Faculty/Support Staff handbooks
Applicants must possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 - PA Criminal Record; Act 114 - FBI Background Check; Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance.ย ย The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment.












Status: ย Full-time Contracted Position

Salary Range: ย Teacher Contract
