Principal Software Engineer Duties:
The Principal Software Engineer is responsible for driving the design, development, and delivery of complex software solutions while leading and mentoring teams. This role excels in advancing our evolving technology stack and maintaining expertise in system architecture, technical leadership, and best practices to ensure the development of secure, scalable, and high-performance web applications.
Pay Range
USD $135,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities included the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Lead the architecture and design of highly scalable and maintainable software systems, contributing to and driving the development of technical roadmaps, aligning them with business strategies and future goals.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration while partnering with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operations, to deliver impactful features and improvements.
  • Oversee and participate in the development of front-end, middleware, and back-end systems using the company's technology stack.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and efficient development processes as well as developing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation and fostering knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies to enhance the company's technical capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Design and implement solutions that optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Lead initiatives to continuously improve the development environment, tools, and processes to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Implement and advocate for secure coding practices to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Identify potential risks in development projects and propose effective mitigation strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned by management, including contributing to organizational goals and adapting to changes productively.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or similar relevant field.
  • 7 years of experience in a development role.
  • Any technical certifications from Amazon, Atlassian, Google, Microsoft, or in an essential duty mentioned above are a plus.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
