Job Overview:
TESCO's internship program offers motivated students hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing and technology environment. Interns will be placed with one of our core departments based on their interests, academic background, and career goals:
Available Departments:
โข Engineering - Software development, Product development and design, Testing, CAD modeling, electrical and mechanical design, and technical documentation
โข Information Technology - systems administration, cybersecurity, and help desk support
โข Marketing - Digital marketing, content creation, market research, and customer engagement
โข Operations - Manufacturing processes, quality control, supply chain, and continuous improvement
This program is designed to provide comprehensive exposure to your chosen field while developing professional skills applicable across industries. You'll work on real projects that impact our business, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and gain insight into how an established manufacturing company operates in today's competitive marketplace.
Key Job Responsibilities: Responsibilities will vary by department
General Responsibilities (All Departments):
โข Support day-to-day operations and project initiatives within your assigned department
โข Collaborate with team members on cross-functional projects
โข Conduct research, data analysis, and prepare reports/presentations
โข Attend team meetings and contribute ideas and insights
โข Assist with documentation, process improvement, and special projects
โข Shadow senior team members to learn best practices and industry standards
Department-Specific Examples:
Engineering:
โข Assist with product design (electrical, mechanical, firmware), prototyping, and testing
โข Create and update technical drawings using CAD and Altium software
โข Support product development projects from concept to production
โข Participate in design reviews and testing procedures
โข Document test results and contribute to technical reports
Information Technology:
โข Support software development QA and debugging
โข Assist with network administration and system maintenance
โข Help with help desk ticketing and user support
โข Participate in cybersecurity initiatives and IT audits
โข Contribute to database management and reporting
Marketing:
โข Create content for social media, website, and marketing materials
โข Conduct market research and competitive analysis
โข Assist with trade show preparation and event coordination
โข Support email marketing campaigns and analytics
โข Develop presentations and sales collateral
Operations:
โข Observe and support manufacturing processes and quality control
โข Assist with inventory management and supply chain activities
โข Participate in continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) initiatives
โข Help with production and workflow optimization
โข Support safety programs and compliance documentation
Qualifications:
Required:
โข Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree
โข Relevant major depending on department of interest:
- Engineering: Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related technical field
- IT: Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Marketing: Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
- Production: Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field
โข Minimum GPA of 3.0 (on 4.0 scale)
โข Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
โข Strong verbal and written communication skills
โข Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred:
โข previous internship or relevant work experience
โข Demonstrated leadership through campus activities, clubs, or volunteer work
โข Technical skills relevant to the department (CAD software, programming languages, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
โข Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
โข Experience with data analysis or research projects

Schedule Options:
Full-time: 40 hours per week (typical schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Part-time: 20-30 hours per week (flexible scheduling available for students taking classes)
