Job description

The Opportunity:
Give Kids The World Village is an 89 acre, whimsical nonprofit resort in Central Florida that provides critically ill children and their families with a magical week long wish vacation at no cost. Amidst snoring trees, enchanting castles and the world's largest game of Candy Land, Give Kids The World creates life changing moments that lift spirits, renew hope and inspire belief in the impossible.
We believe that each member of our team has the ability to help create the perfect storybook experience for the special families we host at our magical Village. This internship will give you an opportunity to have meaningful learning experiences while supporting department goals and gaining real-world exposure to the hospitality/nonprofit industry.
Commitment:
Interns will be expected on property 3/4 days per week totaling roughly 24/28 hours per week. Your schedule will be dependent on department needs and will be discussed with you at the time of onboarding. Internship Program will run from May 27, 2026 to August 14, 2026.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily safety and security operations, including property patrols and safety observations
  • Support incident reporting and documentation using internal systems
  • Participate in safety audits, compliance checks
  • Assist with coordination of emergency preparedness activities and drills
  • Help track safety equipment inventory (e.g., pool safety gear, AEDs, cameras)
  • Assist in reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Contribute to training initiatives, including computer-based learning platforms (Zenith)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a safe and positive guest experience
  • Participate in special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned

Physical Demands Beyond Normal Office Environment:
  • Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, crouch, balance, use hands and arms to lift/move objects.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to maintain a flexible schedule, which may include nights, weekends and/or holidays.

Qualifications and Specific Skills:
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills ensuring courtesy, efficiency, and detailed follow through.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Enthusiastic attitude.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Must have strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Education / Experience Required:
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in a technology related field (such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related discipline), with at least one active course at the time of application.
