Is $20 an hour good for an internship?

For an internship as a computer operator, $20 an hour is generally considered above average, as many internships pay between minimum wage and $15 per hour. However, pay rates vary depending on location, industry, and the complexity of tasks involved. It's important to consider the experience gained and whether the compensation aligns with local standards for internships in the field.

The 'Big 4' internships typically refer to internship programs offered by the four largest professional services firms: Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Ernst & Young (EY), and KPMG. For an internship as a computer operator, $30 an hour is considered above average in many regions, as internships typically pay lower rates or are unpaid. The pay rate can depend on the industry, location, and the intern's skills, such as familiarity with operating systems and basic troubleshooting. It's important to evaluate the internship's overall benefits, including experience and training, alongside the hourly wage.

Am I screwed if I have no internships?

For an internship as a computer operator, having prior internships can strengthen your application, but it is not always mandatory. Employers often value relevant skills, such as familiarity with operating systems, basic troubleshooting, and data entry, which can be gained through coursework or self-study. Building a strong resume with relevant skills and certifications can help compensate for lack of internships.
