Job description

Federal Signal has an immediate opening for an Part-Time Integration Technician Intern at our University Park, Illinois facility. This position conducts Acceptance Testing which includes comprehending systems drawings, wiring AC/DC power and simulation equipment, configuring systems equipment, loading firmware, modifying IP addresses, and aids in the development of system test procedures. This position provides first line internal support for all field service and commissioning activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Through testing, confirms all engineered systems are manufactured to customer design specifications and applicable test regime.
  • Ensures all work is completed to the correct documentation revisions and mark ups, etc. and are communicated to Systems Engineering.
  • Coordinates and participates in commissioning engineer training programs.
  • Performs software integration and testing.
  • Assists Engineering in the design, documentation, and testing of new products as required.
  • Assists with training and demonstration of systems.
  • Other duties as required.

Position Requirements
  • Undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology
  • Student must have completed their sophomore year of college
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
