Graphics Specialist
Quantico, VA
The Graphics Specialist receives work direction and product development guidance from the Project Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create, edit, and produce visual information products such as still images, motion graphics, charts, diagrams, maps, and other visual materials Defense Media Activity.

  • Support strategic communication by producing graphics for reports, presentations, and official DoD publications.

  • Ensure all products meet DoD Visual Information Style Guide (VISG) standards for style, captioning, metadata, and attribution Defense Media Activity.

  • Work with other staff to integrate visual elements into joint operations planning and public affairs materials.

EDUCATION
  • Associate degree or equivalent in Business Management; Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Graphics Design or other related disciplines is desired.

  • High School degree with 5 years of experience in the Experience section is also acceptable.

EXPERIENCE
  • Demonstrated success in two (2) or more of the following areas:

  • Experience as a graphics and multi-media developer using software such as CorelDraw and Photoshop CS5 to develop graphics and other multimedia (charts, graphs, illustrations, other visual aids) for publications.

  • Experience maintaining digital archives (photographs, vignettes, videos, and quotes).

  • Expertise with the Joint or Service doctrine development and publishing processes.

CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Able to write clear communications and present training programs.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent computer skills required. Proficient in the entire suite of MS Office and able to quickly learn additional systems. Familiarity with SharePoint and C2PC is desired.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus

  • Daily travel in local area during workday (including use of personal vehicle)

  • Be able to work an unstable schedule, to include holidays and weekends.

SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
  • Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company's auto insurance provider.

SECURITY CLEARANCE
  • A Secret security clearance is required for this position.
