Job Overview

As a Lead Computer Engineer, you will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for developing engineering solutions, evaluating system architectures, leading integration efforts, and driving technical excellence across the full system lifecycle.


You will collaborate with engineers, developers, system administrators, program leadership, and customers to solve complex technical challenges, improve system performance, and support mission-critical objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design, development, integration, testing, and evaluation of computer systems and related technologies
  • Analyze system requirements and develop engineering solutions that support mission and program objectives
  • Evaluate system architectures and recommend improvements that enhance performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
  • Provide technical leadership throughout design, implementation, testing, integration, and sustainment activities
  • Conduct engineering studies, technical analyses, and feasibility assessments
  • Support the development and implementation of hardware, software, and network solutions
  • Review technical designs, specifications, and engineering documentation
  • Identify and resolve complex technical issues involving software, hardware, networking, and enterprise systems
  • Support verification, validation, performance testing, and system optimization efforts
  • Ensure engineering solutions comply with applicable standards, requirements, and best practices
  • Coordinate technical efforts across engineering teams and stakeholders
  • Develop technical briefings, reports, recommendations, and presentations for leadership and customers

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering,
  • Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
  • Ten (10) years of experience in computer engineering, software development, computer systems engineering, networking, computer design, or related technical disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of computer engineering principles and practices
  • Experience developing solutions across hardware, software, and networking environments
  • Experience evaluating system architectures and developing technical strategies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Proven ability to lead technical efforts and guide engineering teams
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience developing and reviewing technical documentation and engineering artifacts
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if required

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal Government programs
  • Experience leading complex engineering initiatives or technical teams
  • Experience with enterprise computing environments
  • Experience supporting systems integration, testing, and implementation activities
  • Experience reviewing technical architectures and evaluating engineering solutions
  • Experience mentoring engineers and technical personnel
  • Advanced coursework or specialized training in systems engineering, software engineering, networking, systems architecture, or related disciplines
