Job Summary:

RAM Construction Services is seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful execution of restoration and commercial construction projects. This role is ideal for an early‑career or developing construction professional who is looking to grow within project management while gaining hands‑on experience in both office and field operations.

The Project Engineer supports Project Managers and Superintendents by coordinating documentation, tracking costs and schedules, assisting with technical reviews, and helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements. This position provides a strong foundation for career advancement in Project Management.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination & Support

  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day‑to‑day project coordination from preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Support project planning activities, including scope review, scheduling, budgeting, and material procurement.
  • Track project progress, production quantities, and costs for restoration and commercial construction projects.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and up‑to‑date project documentation.

Technical & Field Support

  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Assist with submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, and document control processes.
  • Provide technical support to help ensure work complies with plans, specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes.
  • Participate in jobsite walks, inspections, and progress reviews to verify quality, productivity, and safety compliance.

Change Management & Procurement

  • Assist with pricing, tracking, and documentation of change orders, time‑and‑material work, and scope revisions common in restoration projects.
  • Coordinate and expedite materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs to support field operations.
  • Assist in evaluating materials, means, and methods appropriate for restoration, repair, and commercial construction work.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Participate in internal and external project meetings.
  • Communicate professionally with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and internal departments.
  • Assist in identifying project risks, issues, or conflicts and escalate them appropriately to project leadership.

Education/Experience:

Entry‑Level Project Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Internship, co‑op, or 1–2 years of construction‑related experience

Mid‑Level Project Engineer

  • 2–5 years of experience in project engineering, project coordination, or construction project support
  • Experience supporting restoration, commercial, or civil construction projects preferred

Field exposure and experience working directly with Superintendents and construction crews is strongly preferred at all levels.

Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and sequencing
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience or familiarity with project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
