Job description

Welcome to the world of land-based gaming. At Light & Wonder, it's all about the games, and our Gaming team builds cutting-edge technology, products, and content for the most iconic casinos and operators across the globe.
Position Summary
Mathematicians at Light & Wonder bring our games to life by creating the math models that drive slot game play. We are seeking mathematically driven individuals to participate in our Math Internship program to join our team of mathematicians. This program will offer an introduction to the industry while you help our math team utilize a data driven approach to game design.
This is intended to be a three-month internship that could be converted to a full-time opportunity as an Associate Mathematician at the end of the internship.
Essential Job Functions
  • Support the math design team in creative decision making by developing tools and datasets that help analyze game math attributes across various game design studios.
  • Work with other mathematicians to leverage AI to create sophisticated tools for analyzing complex mathematical game math models.

Qualifications
Education
  • Preferably enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program pursuing a degree in mathematics, combinatorics, statistics, or any related field.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in mathematics, especially probability and statistics.
  • Experience in Excel, especially in the use of linking and formulas to dynamically calculate probabilities and describe complicated probabilistic events.
  • Programming skills in C++, Python, or any similar languages.
  • Experience using AI.
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong creativity and imagination.

Hourly pay of $25.00, with opportunities for growth and advancement.
Work Conditions
Hybrid structure with 4 days a week on-site required.
