Job description

Total Solutions, Inc. (TSI) is seeking a skilled Programmer to join our team supporting the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing electronic data support for the Farm Service Agency's Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act (FOIA/PA) initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Data Compilation: Gather information from various database and non-database sources.
• Record Preparation: Develop responsive records primarily in Excel, using data extracted from central databases and prepared files.
• Software Proficiency: Utilize a wide range of software applications, including database connection tools (IMB Informix Connect, Microsoft SQL Server, Hyperion, ODBC, Internet Explorer) and other software (Excel, Toad, FTP, Acrobat, Notepad ++, Textpad, FileZilla).
• Mainframe Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency or a strong aptitude for learning mainframe interrogation and related software (JCL, COBOL, SYNCSORT, ISPF, SQL, TSO, File Aid).
Qualifications:
• Strong expertise or the ability to quickly acquire proficiency in the following software applications: EXCEL, Toad, JCL, COBOL, SYNCSORT, ISPF, SQL, TSO, File Aid, IMB Informix Connect, Microsoft SQL Server, Hyperion, ODBC, Internet Explorer, FTP, Acrobat, Textpad, FileZilla, and mainframe interrogation.
• Proven ability to work effectively with databases and data extraction techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
