Position Overview
We are seeking qualified Swiss CNC Machine Operators to set up and operate Tsugami CNC Swiss lathes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will produce precision-machined parts, read and edit CNC programs, interpret blueprints and technical drawings, inspect finished parts, troubleshoot routine machine issues, and maintain high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
All work must be performed onsite at the Valley City, Ohio facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate Tsugami CNC Swiss lathes.
  • Monitor equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Read, understand, format, and edit CNC programs as required.
  • Inspect first pieces and obtain approval before beginning production.
  • Perform in-process inspections according to established procedures, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, including:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Thread gages
    • Depth micrometers
  • Make general decisions regarding quality, tolerances, and sequence of operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine and selected non-routine production or equipment issues.
  • Complete secondary operations as required.
  • Perform daily maintenance checks on assigned equipment.
  • Properly care for tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Identify and report faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations, and unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Maintain accurate and timely production records and reports.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and internal teams.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and follow all safety practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
  • Complete assignments efficiently while meeting quality and customer expectations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1–2 years of related CNC machining experience and/or equivalent education and training.
  • Previous Swiss CNC machine operating experience is required.
  • Experience setting up and operating Tsugami CNC Swiss lathes is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming, including program formatting and editing.
  • Ability to use precision inspection gages and measuring equipment.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize work effectively.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
  • Demonstrated interest in continuous improvement and process efficiency.
  • Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills.
