Job description

RN II – ICU / CVICU (CNA Represented)
San Luis Obispo, CA

This position is represented by CNA and is for an experienced RN II in the ICU/CVICU setting. The ideal candidate is skilled in critical care nursing and able to respond confidently in both stable and emergent patient situations.


Position Overview
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to ICU and CVICU patients

  • Deliver appropriate nursing interventions in stable and emergent situations

  • Monitor ventilators, hemodynamics, and vasoactive drips

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards

  • Adhere to patient safety, infection control, and quality care protocols


Education & Work Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED: Required

  • Associate Degree (A.A. or A.S.): Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred

  • Successful completion of a Critical Care Nursing course: Required

  • Six (6) months previous critical care experience: Preferred


Licenses & Certifications
  • Current California RN license: Required

  • BLS (BLS, HS-BLS, or RQI BLS): Required

  • ACLS (ACLS, HS-ACLS, or RQI ACLS): Required

  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required within 1 year of hire or transfer

    • Current employees as of 06/30/2021 have 2 years to complete
