Job description

The ER Internship Program, or ENIP is an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills to transition into an ER setting.
We are seeking motivated, mature, self-directed professionals who are interested in growing in a dynamic team and making a difference.
Positions details:
  • Location: St. Joseph's Hospital - 3001 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Tampa, FL
  • Status: Full Time
  • Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
  • Weekend requirement - every other weekend
  • On Call: No
  • Always in person

Internship details:
  • 3 weeks of didactic and 8-16 weeks of preceptorship
  • Guided clinical orientation to ensure up-to-date and comprehensive care knowledge
  • Shift: Interns will gain experience on both day and night shift before being assigned a permanent shift
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • Commitment: This is an hours-based commitment required for the internship program specifically to the unit of hire beginning at the end of completed preceptorship hours

Requirements:
  • Current RN (Registered Nurse) License
  • Associate's, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • EKG Script test will be provided at the start of the internship program, you are required to pass within 2 attempts. Failure to do so will result in being released from the internship program
  • Preferred: ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
  • Preferred: 1-year experience in an Acute Care setting

  • Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
  • Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
  • Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
  • Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
  • Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
  • Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
  • Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
  • High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
