About the Role:

Interns work side-by-side with CER professional staff to complete environmental restoration projects within protected natural areas in northern Kentucky.
Internships last for three months with the possibility of extensions up to one year. Opportunities available year-round. Internships may be part time or full time, have whole-day work days, and are one to five days per week. Training is provided and no prior environmental restoration experience is required.

willingness to work with herbicides
comfort encountering poison ivy, ticks, and other natural hazards

This internship is for new environmental professionals, entails office and fieldwork, and promotes leadership, management, and technical skill development. Field activities may include leading small invasive plant removal crews (which includes herbicide record-keeping), stream and macroinvertebrate assessments, conservation easement inspections, sediment and erosion control, and other conservation tasks.Many interns may learn to operate compact construction equipment such as Bobcat track loaders and excavators.

Office activities include preparing plans and/or monitoring reports for restoration projects under the direction of CER staff, and co-presenting them to regulatory agency personnel for review and approval.Interns should be confident working with ArcPro and ArcOnline, have good organizational and technical writing skills, and be able to work well independently.
